CD News
I am currently working on a CD of mostly original music with musicians from Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Canada, the US and Germany.
Featured are brazilian drum legend Portinho`s trio with pianist Klaus Mueller, Itaiguara Brandao, bass and also singer Maria de Fatima and José Cortijo on percussion.
Guest spots are by trombonist Rex Rathgeber, Florian Poser on vibraphone, Kim Barth, flute and German Marstatt on flugelhorn with me playing electric and acoustic guitar and guitar-synthesizer.
After Dave Darlington just finished the mix at the New Yorker BASS HIT STUDIO, Mark Wilder will do the mastering the coming days.

The WJO on the air: On april 9th `08 Jazztime Bayern4Klassik broadcast a concert recording of the WJO at Würzburg Jazzfestival 2007: `Tribute to Don Ellis feat. Thomas Gansch´

WE THREE on the air:
In two broadcasts, Bavarian Radio (BR) aired the best from our concert at `Incontri´ in Rohrbach:
- On jan. 15th 2010, BR-Klassik broadcast a complete program dedicated to WE THREE in Jazztime - `Jazz auf Reisen´ (11.05 pm to 12.00).
- On nov 29th `09, BR2 played excerpts during the RadioJazzNight (12.05 am to 2.00 am) together with other highlights from their recent live recordings.

WEATHERTUNES
Also, occasionaly I play as a guest on lounge/drum`n bass cds.
Since end of april 2011 `Passions´, the great new release by WEATHERTUNES is available.
Before that (april 2009), `Palm Beach´, the 5th cd by WEATHERTUNES was released in Japan on the Receptor Tune Label.
One of the previous WEATHERTUNES albums ( `Summer´ ) contained a remix of one of my tunes that you might know from the WE THREE cd `The Drivin´ Beat´: At The Rio Bar (Summer Remix).
This remix has been used on six compilations so far, often in the company of tunes played by artists like Manny Oquendo, Flora Purim, Joe Pass, Chico O`Farrill.

In the july/august 2010 edition, german music magazine `JAZZ PODIUM´ runs a longer article about my work, naming album releases and giving an overview of bands and projects I am - or have been - involved with.
Keyboard magazine OKEY, in its jan/feb 2010 copy, features a combined article on and interview with WE THREE (Dan Kostelnik, Scott Neumann, M.A.), that was made while the Band was on tour in Germany introducing its´most recent album.
About my duo appearance together with guitarist Christian Eckert on 12.12. `08 @ Jazzhaus Heidelberg, Dr. Michael Herweg wrote an (german language- ) article that has been published at www.archtop-germany.de/-Konzerte/-konzerte.html
Jazz Podium magazin offers an extended musical portrait in it`s february `08 edition: `Michael Arlt - quiet, erotic, exquisit´
In march 2007, Mainpost features an interview with me in its cultural section, touching on topics such as travels, stylistic questions and the young german jazz scene. The piece announces the upcoming live recording of the Michael Arlt INTERNATIONAL QUARTET for Bavarian Radio Station (BR).
Since april 2006 www.archtop-germany.de posts a piece about my trip to the US east coast in november and december, including a couple of fotos from the live recording at Cecil`s, West Orange, NJ.

German Jazz Zeitung awards four stars to the WE THREE release `A New View´. The date: february `06
In december 2005 Zan Stewart wrote a nice piece in the New Jersey Star Ledger . Titeled `An American debut´, Down Beat/Jazz Times contributor Stewart profiled Dan Kostelnik and WE THREE.
